Chris Smith took this video of the death and destruction on the upper Situk River after the pink salmon season has come and gone. The amount of dead fish and spent unfertilized eggs on the river bottom is pretty amazing to see. So many fish come back to these wild Alaskan streams that the river habitat can't hope to support this much biomass.
